Mott, Lucretia (Coffin)

Аболиционистка [abolitionists], феминистка, квакер [Quakers]. В 1833 создала Филадельфийское женское общество борьбы с рабством [Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society]. Стала активисткой женского движения после отказа Всемирного съезда борьбы с рабством в Лондоне (1840) признать полномочия делегатов-женщин. В 1848 вместе с Э. Стэнтон [Stanton, Elizabeth Cady] организовала конференцию в Сенека-Фолс [Seneca Falls Convention]. В 1850 после принятия Закона о беглых рабах [Fugitive Slave Act of 1850] вместе с мужем Дж. Моттом [Mott, James] (1788-1868) организовала у себя в доме перевалочный пункт "подземной железной дороги" [Underground Railroad]. Включена в Национальную галерею славы женщин [National Woman's Hall of Fame]
